After filling up on happy hour beer and food (mac & cheese for her, apricot hot wings for him), we headed over to Nate's to start a long journey through the entire Babylon 5 sci-fi series. We watched the pilot and the first episode of season one. It's not great yet, but we can see the promise of greatness and we're excited for that.
The small, kidney-shaped, edible nut of the cashew tree? No. The sound you make when you sneeze? Maybe. A combination of Catchpole and Mathew? Sure.

Beer Blogging & Babylon 5
On Wednesday, we finally managed to make it to a Corvallis Beer & Blog session. Beer & Blog is a Portland creation that is spreading fast and furious around the world. This week's session, held at Cloud 9, was about embedding video inside blogs. *yawn* I'm more excited about the prospect of meeting more people in town and socializing over a beer. I ran into an old teacher of mine, John Sechrest, at this weeks meeting, and Betsey met a wonderful woman named Hope that may be able to help her with Medical Physics grants.

Folks, Quotes, Baby and Beer
This weekend my parents came to visit. They came up Saturday afternoon and treated us to nice dinner at McMenamins. After dinner, we went home and watched "Across the Universe" on demand. I'm a sucker for musicals, I think, and it is no surprise to me that I truly enjoyed this one. I highly recommend watching if you enjoy either a) musicals or b) Beatles music.
My parents kept having flashbacks when they saw the scenes filmed in Liverpool. They were cute, even if their interjections were a little annoying (think people talking in the theater). My dad threw out a great old quote that I just have to share.
"What you gain on the roundabouts you lose on the swings."
Apparently, this is an old carny (carnival worker) saying. The kids would pay to ride on the roundabouts, but the swings were free and they would play on those too (imagine).
The next night, we were treated to a visit by our dear blogging friend from "The Turn of the Sue". She brought over baby Soren and grandma. We love Soren, and he received plenty of attention.

Then Monday came. Mondays, however, just became a little easier to handle. The carpool stopped at the pub and found out that pints are only $3 on Mondays. Woohoo!

Tweet Tweet - Worlds Integrate
I recently joined Twitter. You can read my latest tweets on the right side of this blog. They also post over to my Facebook profile. If Mrs. Catchpole ever starts tweeting, we'll get her set up similarly. In addition, blog posts should start showing up as notes on Facebook. This will be the first test.
